BCC - Return To Train / Play

27/10/2020

Good day Club Members and friends,

The long wait to return to Cricket is finally over. As from Sunday, 25 October 2020, we are permitted to return to cricket activities with specific guidelines.

The last couple of weeks were hectic in preparing the Alert Level 1 Return to Cricket Guidelines for the Club, attending various meetings at WPCA, having a risk analysis done for the Club and having four Compliance officers trained.

It is requested that all members and friends assist to ensure that we are not the cause of spreading of the Covid-19 Virus. We have therefore put guidelines in place for the arrival/screening at the club, practice days and match days.
The guidelines are specific to each situation, but the following need emphasis:
  • There is only one entrance to the club. Make use of the main entrance where the screening process will take place.
  • Wearing of a mask when and where required.
  • Report if you have been in contact with a person positively identified with the Covid-19 virus in the last 14 days.
  • Report should you have experienced any Covid-19 Symptoms in the last 14 day.
  • Sanitize on a regular basis
  • No sharing of personnel equipment, water bottles, etc.
  • Adhere to safe distancing before, during practice and after practice.
  • When coming to practice be dressed ready for practice as far as possible.
  • No spectators are allowed at practices and matches.
The following members have been appointed as Compliance Officers:
  • Selwyn van Noordwyk
  • Marcel Ochse
  • Paul Jacobs
  • Marcus Fourie
Schedule for the return to Cricket activities are as follow:
  • Practice may commence form effect immediate. The first official practice is scheduled for 29 October 2020 at 17h15 providing the contractor adequate time to prepare the practice net area.
  • Friendly matches, as approved by WPCA prior to every match, may be played from 1 November 2020.
  • League matches will commence during January 2021 with one day matches and Ama 20 matches being played. The season may be stretched into April 2020 depending on fixture commitments.
We, as Club, are obligated to conform to all relevant Government Regulations, CSA and WPCA guidelines issued from time to time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
